SAA Launches Young Professionals Network to Provide Networking and Educational Opportunities

The Society of Automotive Analysts has launched the Young Professionals Network (YPN), which will provide networking opportunities and facilitate the exchange of ideas, insights and opinions among the next generation of automotive industry thought leaders. The YPN will consist of career-minded automotive industry professionals who want to stay abreast of the latest trends while at the same time expanding their network of contacts.

“Just as many automakers and suppliers continue to reengineer themselves in pursuit for long-term growth, industry leaders must continue to attract young talent with the same devotion,” said YPN Director Chris Brower. “Longer-term, this group will serve as the growth engine to sustain the ongoing industry transformation and will represent the next wave of thought-leaders and dedicated strategists.”

The YPN offers its members a way to link their personal passions with professional ambitions. YPN is unique in that it has been designed to represent a wide range of auto industry professionals, welcoming bankers, analysts, manufacturing professionals, dealer representatives and other industry participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas and make a difference by becoming actively connected with the leading professional, civic and social aspects of the industry. (Note: “Young” is defined as it relates to the growth stage of a career.)

“Engaging professionals across different verticals in the industry to facilitate creativity and learning is central to our purpose.  Our value proposition is providing attractive industry-exclusive events, enhancing the knowledge base of our members and cultivating opportunities to network and connect with other professionals,” Brower concluded.

The YPN will hold its first event on Thursday, August 26, 2010 with a “Happy Hour” networking event. More information will be available on the SAA website soon.

Speakers Announced for the 2010 Automotive Outlook Conference

Lutz, Other Leaders to Address “What to Look For” at SAA’s 2010 Automotive Outlook Conference

Event held on eve of opening of NAIAS to forecast 2010

Detroit, MI – After a tumultuous 2009, all eyes will be on Detroit and the 2010 North American International Auto Show to see how the automakers will respond. The Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA) – the Automotive Thought Leaders – will hold its 2010 Automotive Outlook Conference and examine what the industry should look for in terms of products and technologies, a supplier forecast and how key economic indicators will affect the industry.

The 2010 SAA Automotive Outlook Conference will take place on the eve of the opening of NAIAS, on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Cobo Hall. The event will begin at 4 p.m. and include a networking reception and dinner.

Keynoting the event will be Bob Lutz, GM’s Global Marketing Chief. Also on the agenda will be renowned journalist and analyst John McElroy, host of Autoline Detroit; and Neil De Koker, president of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA); John Casesa, managing partner, Casesa Shapiro Group, LLC; and Justin Mirro, managing director, Moelis & Company.

“With 2009 nearly behind us, it is time to look into what 2010 and beyond holds for the industry,” said SAA President Tom Libby.  “What new technologies will be introduced?  Will consumer confidence return and lead to more ‘normal’ sales figures?  What can suppliers expect? These are just a few of the handful of issues that will be discussed.”

According to Libby, moving the date and time of the annual event to prior to the start of industry preview and media week made good sense as it will help prepare the industry for the important week ahead.

The Outlook Conference is sponsored by AutoFacts, Lear Corporation, the Detroit Regional News Hub, OESA and FACTON.

To register for the event, go to www.cybersaa.org or call 248-804-6433.
